ACC Pathways & Funded Programmes
Certain complex or severe injuries require more than standard physiotherapy care. At Physio HQ, we participate in specialised ACC-funded pathways and partner programmes designed to provide wrap-around clinical support for qualifying injuries.
The Careway Programme
Physio HQ is a registered provider of Careway, an ACC-funded initiative supporting recovery from specific, complex knee, shoulder, and spine injuries. Eligibility for Careway is determined by strict ACC criteria and clinical assessment. If you qualify, Careway fully covers your ongoing physiotherapy appointments and connects you directly with a broader network of medical specialists, including orthopaedic surgeons, sports physicians, pain specialists, and vocational therapists.
TBI Health Partnerships
We also collaborate alongside TBI Health for community rehabilitation and complex injury management to ensure seamless, multi-disciplinary recovery.
Navigating Your Funding
Because eligibility for these funded pathways depends on specific injury classifications and ACC approvals, our senior physiotherapists will evaluate your condition during your standard consultation to determine whether a funded pathway or specialist referral is appropriate for you.

Suitable for patients in Auckland with significant, complex, or severe injuries who may meet the clinical criteria for specialised ACC support streams. Admission into these programmes requires specific clinical eligibility and specialist confirmation.
Eligible Injury Types & Focus Areas:
Complex Knee Injuries: Significant ligament ruptures (such as ACL or multi-ligament trauma) or structural joint injuries.
Complex Shoulder Injuries: Major rotator cuff tears, acute dislocations, or structural shoulder instability.
Complex Spine & Back Injuries: Significant lumbar or cervical spinal conditions impacting daily function.
Concussion & Community Rehab: Coordinated support pathways via TBI Health partnerships for multi-disciplinary care.
What to Expect at Physio HQ
Initial Clinical Triage: Your physio performs a detailed clinical evaluation, reviewing your injury history, strength, mobility, and ACC claim details.

Specialist Pathway Referral: If appropriate, we submit a referral to the pathway coordinators or specialists (surgical or non-surgical streams) for formal review and confirmation.
Coordinated Care: Once approved, your treatment plan expands to include fully funded physio sessions and direct collaboration with orthopaedic surgeons, sports doctors, or vocational specialists.
